Cambodia has finally started allowing tourists back into the country and has just announced that fully vaccinated travelers will no longer be required to undergo quarantine.
However, tourists should also meet the requirements to enter Cambodia

Do i need a visa to enter Cambodia?
Yes. Most foreign nationals need to get the Visa for Cambodia. A visa is a mandatory entry requirement for Cambodia for most foreigners.
Only the following nationalities are exempt from the Cambodian visa policy:
- Brunei
- Indonesia
- Laos
- Malaysia
- Philippines
- Seychelles
- Singapore
- Thailand
- Vietnam
If the visitors does not come from one of the above-mentioned countries, they must apply for Cambodia eVisa for tourism and business purposes.
The online Cambodia visa allows holders to stay in the country for 30 days.

The Cambodia eVisa application process is very simple. There is no need to visit an embassy or consulate because the online application eliminates the need to do so.
Cambodia entry requirements for foreign travelers
Entry to Cambodia
Cambodia entry requirements can change with little or no notice. You should contact your airline and/or accommodation about late changes.
Travelers over the world entering Cambodia will, prior to boarding, need:
- a visa before arrival — tourist visas can be applied for online.
- A certificate of negative COVID-19 (PCR) from a competent health authority stating that you do not have COVID-19 within 72 hours of arrival in Cambodia. The certificate should bear the stamp of the facility issuing it as well as be signed by a qualified medical practitioner. You don’t use the NHS testing service to obtain a test in order to travel to another country. You must arrange to take a private test
- Travelers are not required to buy health insurance, but COVID-19 health insurance is highly recommended. This evidence should be printed in color.
Demonstrating your COVID-19 status
On arrival in Cambodia, vaccinated travelers will be required to prove their vaccination status. Cambodia will accept the UK’s certificate of recovery from COVID-19 and vaccination record.
NHS appointment cards from vaccination centers are not intended to be used as proof of vaccination and should not be used for that purpose.
Transiting Cambodia requirements
Land borders between Cambodia and Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam are currently closed, making it impossible to enter or leave the country.
COVID-19 Testing Requirement for International Travelers to Cambodia
All international travelers arriving in Cambodia will be subject to a COVID-19 test on arrival (as well as requiring a COVID negative test before flying) depending on their vaccination status.
Travelers who have received vaccinations will be required to undergo lateral flow testing at the port of entry and wait for the results for 15 to 20 minutes. Unvaccinated travelers will be required to do a PCR test.
Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will be admitted to a treatment facility designated by the Ministry of Health for monitoring and treatment.
If you are unable to meet these requirements, you should carefully consider whether you should travel to Cambodia at this time.
Cambodia quarantine requirements for foreign travelers

Vaccinated travelers are not required to quarantine on arrival.
Cambodia quarantine requirements for unvaccinated travellers
A traveler who is unvaccinated or has not been fully vaccinated must quarantine for 14 days. Unless you have pre-booked the hotel, you must show US$2000 in cash per person. The health authorities will oversee a PCR test on the thirteenth day of quarantine. The additional hotels should be contacted directly and may charge more than the Government hotels.
If you intend to stay in a government-arranged hotel, you must show that you have sufficient funds to cover the cost of your stay, as indicated above.
Cambodia quarantine requirements for children
- Children under 18 do not need to quarantine if they are traveling with a fully vaccinated parent and (for those over the age of 6) have a negative PCR or antigen test.
- Children under the age of 6 are exempt from testing.
Cambodia's regular entry requirements for travelers
Visa
All non-Cambodian citizens (except citizens of Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam) require a visa.
On arrival by air or land, visas are also available. Applicants for a month-long single-entry tourist visa must submit two photos and a valid passport. This can be extended within the country and is most easily accomplished through travel agencies.
Business visas are also available. They cost $25 and can be extended for up to a year, with multiple entries.
You can apply for a visa online for time-saving. Instead of applying through a Cambodian embassy, you simply complete the online application form and pay with your credit card.
Passport
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Cambodia. Entry is usually denied if your passport is damaged or has missing pages.
Your passport must also be valid for at least 6 months for any subsequent visa renewal or extension that you apply for from within Cambodia.

Employment
To work in Cambodia, you’ll need a valid business visa and a valid work permit. Failure to follow this rule can lead to arrest and deportation.
Work permit
To work in Cambodia, you must have a valid business visa as well as a valid work permit. The Immigration Department issues business visas, which are usually available upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport or at the Immigration Department.
You may be able to apply for a Business visa ahead of time at the Cambodian Embassy nearest to you. Your employer must apply to the Department of Labour and Social Affairs for your work permit.
The Cambodian government is now enforcing these rules more strictly than in previous years. Consult the relevant Cambodian government department for the latest advice as procedures are subject to change.
Cambodia Entry Methods
There are three ways for travelers to enter Cambodia: by air, by land, or by sea. Siem Reap International Airport provides access to the temples of Angkor.In the meantime, Sihanoukville International Airport connects to neighboring countries.
With an approved Cambodia eVisa, travelers can enter via the land border crossings. There are 7 with Vietnam, 5 with Thailand, and 1 with Laos.
There are also 3 major seaports: Sihanoukville on the Gulf of Siam, Phnom Penh on the Mekong River, and the provincial port of Koh Kong.
It is not possible to enter Cambodia through these entry points with the Cambodia eVisa.
