The Myanmar tourist evisa allows a single entry stay of up 28 days and is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

Eligible citizens should fill out the simple Myanmar eVisa online application form with personal and passport information.

The online Myanmar tourist eVisa allows travelers to apply online and receive an approved eVisa Travel Authorization in order to gain expedited entry upon arrival in the country.

eVisa holders are only permitted to enter Myanmar through certain ports of entry, which include major airports and land border crossings. Travelers arriving by cruise ship will be unable to enter Myanmar with an eVisa because it cannot be used for entry into Myanmar’s seaports.

There are 2 versions of the Myanmar eVisa available to passport holders: the tourist eVisa and the business eVisa. Here is a quick overview of each type:

  • Tourist eVisa — This type of Myanmar visa is designed for visitors who intend to visit Myanmar as tourists (i.e. visit attractions, go sightseeing, or travel around the country).
    The Myanmar tourist eVisa is a single-entry permit that allows the holder to stay in the country for up to 28 days.
  • Business eVisa — Travelers who are visiting Myanmar for business purposes can apply for a Myanmar business eVisa. This is a single-entry visa that can be obtained online and allows travelers to stay in Myanmar for up to 70 days. Applicants must have an invitation from a registered company in Myanmar when applying for it.

Myanmar tourist and business eVisas are both valid for three months from the date of approval. Similarly, visitors entering Myanmar must present their approved eVisa to gain entry into the country.

How to apply for a Myanmar visa online

How to apply for a Myanmar online visa in 6 steps

You must apply for a Myanmar eVisa through the Myanmar Ministry of Labour, Immigration, and Population’s official website.

  • You must begin a new application by selecting the type of visa you require: Tourist Visa, Business Visa, or Express Visa.
  • Fill out the Myanmar Visa Application Form with all of the required information (your email address, your personal information, passport information, the port through which you will enter, the address in Myanmar, etc).
  • Upload a photo of yourself that meets the above-mentioned photo requirements.
  • Scanned copies of the required documents should be uploaded.
  • Pay for the Myanmar eVisa with a credit/debit card (VISA, Mastercard, American Express or JCB)
  • You will be notified via email once your eVisa has been processed

If your Myanmar eVisa application is approved, you will receive an electronic version of the visa, which you must print.

Print one colored copy (black and white is also acceptable) and present it to the Immigration Officers at the Myanmar border. Check that the printout is completely legible and clear.

What is the Duration of the Myanmar Visa?

All Myanmar e-visas must be used within three months of being issued, or they will expire. However, once you enter the country, the amount of time you can stay depends on the type of visa you have applied for:

  • Myanmar Business eVisa is valid for 70 days.
  • Myanmar Express eVisa is valid for 28 days.
